This is the youngest daughter Chris with Oma and Opa. We'll probably have a family party in the early summer to have a big celebration...invite all the Dutch friends and relatives and celebrate in style.

Here's Martien and Barbara and Tom relaxing after a big dinner. Marty and Barb are talking about building their new house on the golf course so Martien can go out in the morning in his pygamas and play a round of golf or two before breakfast.

This is Jason, Chris's husband, a member of the Canadian military using some of his handy skills to open a bottle of wine with the pliers. The corkscrew broke and nobody was able to remove the cork. Jason immediately took charge and we were soon resupplied with wine. Another emergency averted!!!

Here's Chris and Shelby and Opa and Jesse in the background.

here's Opa wondering how long before the turkey dinner is ready to eat. In the background is Mary.

Here's Oma and Opa celebrating their 55th anniversary. Opa often talks about how he fell on the ice on the day he and Oma got married. Shortly after their wedding day, they boarded the ship to come to Canada. They came over on the Zuidecruis and landed in Halifax at Pier 21, then took the train to Pembroke and finally ended up in Brudenell at Isadore Vereyken's farm on top of the hill next door to Tommy Walsh.

We all got together at Mary's house on Jan 17 to have a dinner to celebrate Ma and Pa's 55th wedding anniversary. Here's Tony and Carolyn discussing their daughter Diana's upcoming wedding this summer. Notice the cat lying on the top shelf of the sideboard. This will probably be the last dinner at Mary's as she had sold her house and will be moving in the spring.

This is Henrietta's son Brandon wearing his brand new Canada hockey sweater. Brandon goes to Opeongo High School, plays hockey and likes music and plays drums and electric guitar. Opa thinks he will grow up to be a farmer...which just might be true.

Here Mary (with the red hair) and Henriette enjoying a glass of wine before dinner.
Here we are having a supper at Tom and Joanne's house on Saturday after New Years. We had a nice afternoon chatting and the weather was lovely and mild and Tom made roast pork which was delicious. Joanne made baked beans, scallopped potatoes, applesauce and chocolate cake for dessert. Soon we have to stop eating as we are all going to get fat.
